TED HRUZD – June 5 Primary Ballot for Morris County Republican Committee
I am running for a position on the Morris Township Republican Committee. Below is a one pager that I am mailing out to registered Republicans in Morris Township, District 5. To my Facebook friends (some who are neighbors) I have following additional comments:
My main role will be: advise Republicans at all levels – Federal, state, local on economic policy and tax reform. In sum, I am strongly pro-business and pro tax reform.
Going forward, I will blog extensively about state and local economic issues.
After I complete an in depth analysis of NJ state government finances I will provide specific recommendations. This may include a ’state’ version of the Fair Tax (in Congress as HR 25 – replaces income, payroll taxes and special interest tax breaks, with a revenue neutral consumption tax, while maintaining progressive tax system with rebates to low income). Why punish success? Reward it and further grow the economy!
NJ traditionally was envy of most states, leading the nation often as the top state in economic growth from 1776 – 1976. Since then our economy has lost balance – excessive public sector growth and many private corporations leaving NJ per anti-business policies. NJ, despite a favorable geographic location and infrastructure, witnessed 41 state economies grow faster from 1997-2009. Source: US Bureau of Economic Analysis.
Briefly note my experience.
Public sector – 1978-83 USDA Auditor of Child Nutrition Programs at Federal, state, local levels, personally uncovering over $500,000 of fraud. Subsequently I became much less supportive of government social programs.
Private sector (Wall Street) – 1983-present – while with 2 exchanges and 2 investment banks, continuous and significant success in decreasing and optimizing infrastructure costs per equity trading transactions.
The above exemplifies my frugal, meticulous, analytical nature. I will apply what I have learned in both public and private sectors to optimize all tax expenditures and maximize the potential of our state and local private economies.

JUNE 5 Republican Primary
I ask for your vote as Morris County Republican Committee representative.
- 55, Morris Twp since 1995, wife Diane and Monica, 13
- Deutsche Bank VP – Market Data Mgt. (present)
- Wall Street since 1983
- Venture Capitalist analyst for high tech start-ups
- Rutgers (Bachelors and Masters in Economics)
- USDA Auditor (1978-83) – uncovered over $500,000 in fraud
- Part time fitness business– Home Run Fitness Entrepreneurs LLC since 2008.
The stronger and less regulated our private economy is, the greater the economic benefits for all. NJ and especially our local municipalities can regain economic growth that for most of 2 centuries was the envy of other states. How? By rebalancing our private/public sectors enabling our private sector to again optimize wealth creation.
I will hold accountable all local, county, and state legislators and administrators for all budgets and expenditures. Being frugal, as well as working smarter not necessarily longer, have been persistent traits of mine. I demand same from our public sector! I was not happy to learn that last month Morris County Freeholders voted to increase property taxes by ½%.
Recent Politics (2010-present):
- Campaigner for Fair Tax (bill HR 25 in Congress).
- 2010 – campaigned for Anna Little against statist Congressman Frank Pallone
